"But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust in his eye has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Matt 5:28 (NIV)

"How terrible it will be for anyone who causes others to sin. Temptation to do wrong is inevitable, but how terrible it will be for the person who does the tempting." Matt 18:7 (NIV)

“But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught…All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right. It is God’s way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do.” 2 Tim 3: 14, 16-17 (NLT)

We see it all around us—on billboards, on TV, in magazines and in books. Sex sells, and when The Bottom Line is your “God”, money is the new salvation.

As a Christian, we’re lucky enough to be different. The Bottom Line isn’t our God. He is the God of Isaac, Abraham and Moses, the God who died on the Cross and rose from the dead. He is the Lord of our lives—or at least, he’s supposed to be.

Write down the three things you think about most often. Does your list include school? work? Your boyfriend? Maybe it includes a sick family member or that new reality TV show you’ve been obsessed with.

But wait…where is God in all of that? As Lord of my life, He should be central to my thoughts and actions. Is he for you? Reflect for a moment.

Unfortunately, all too often God plays second fiddle to our busy daily lives. How can we get back on track? This mini-series of Bible studies will help us do just that. This first study is “God, Lord of my Love Life” Or, “So I want to have Sex with my Boyfriend…”

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me." - John 14:1

Robert and his wife were in shock when their dream cabin overlooking Mount Timpanogos was crushed in an avalanche. It took nature only ten seconds to destroy what had taken them several years to design, plan, build, and furnish. They had a very difficult time seeing God in the situation as they picked through the smashed bits of their belongings.

Boundless love, unending joy,
This is my life, it’s what I know.
I can’t believe that He selected me!
Jesus my Lord, it’s you I owe.

Boundless grace because of Calvary,
His life He gave, His love outpoured.
I now can live with Him eternally,
Jesus my Lord, it’s You I love.

A troop of Boy Scouts was being used as "victims" in a test of emergency systems. A mock earthquake was staged, and the Scouts impersonated wounded persons who were to be picked up and cared for by the emergency units. One Scout was supposed to lie on the ground and await his rescuers, but the first-aid people got behind schedule, and the Scout lay "wounded" for several hours. When the first-aid squad arrived where the casualty was supposed to be, they found nothing but this brief note: "Have bled to death and gone home."
